For sale is Joe Cocker's Mad Dogs & Englishmen, originally released in 1970 by A&M Records as a double album set with a gate-fold presentation that opens up into a full-color poster. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks is what appears to be an etching of two rings representing a disc, completed by an old-fashioned circumference gauge, representing the "A" of Artisan Sound Recorders' logo. This is followed by the matrix numbers T-1/T-1/T-2/T-3 and "T1". All these etchings indicate that the record was mastered at Artisan Sound Recorders of Hollywood, California, then an early stamper was used to press this first edition at Columbia Record's pressing plant at Terre Haute, Indiana. I bought this record set used, professionally cleaned them on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put them into two MFSL archival inner sleeves. This preserves the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with the release. There are no original inner sleeves with this listing. The cover is graded VG+ because of corner blunts, edge rubs and ring wear. The spine has some oxidation. The gate-fold has some wrinkles along one edge when its unfolded The vinyl is visually graded as VG because of some faint sleeve marks and surface scratches. I'm play grading the record as VG with an occasional pop or tick, along with some low level surface noise, most noticeable during the quiet sections of playback. This would make a great addition to anyone's collection. I have more British Invasion records, as well as albums of all different genres, in my Ebay store. Please take a look. They're predominately Near Mint. Thank you for viewing my listing.
I've been collecting records for about 50 years now and have always cleaned them and put them away carefully in plastic inner sleeves. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative. I offer discounts for multiple sales. Photos are of the actual item for sale, not a stock photo. Please review all descriptions and photos because I do not accept returns. Thank you for looking!
