For sale is a vinyl record by George Winston titled "December", originally released in 1982 by Windham Hill Records, distributed by A&M Records, with the title embossed on the front cover. According to the liner notes, this record was half-speed mastered by Jack Hunt at the JVC Cutting Center, located in Hollywood, California. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks is etched "Au" along with the male symbol of a circle with an arrow pointing upwards, followed by the matrix numbers PP-1/SD-2, indicating that the album was lacquered by Rick Goldman before an early stamper was used to make this record on a special vinyl compound which makes the record translucent when held to a bright light. These are hallmarks of state-of-the art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound quality. I bought this record used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put the album into an archival inner sleeve.  Doing this protects the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve. The original see-through inner sleeve is graded as Near Mint. The cover is graded as Very Good Plus because of corner blunts, a creased corner and faint ring wear. The spine has a tear in the middle with paper loss. The vinyl is visually graded as Near Mint, with surfaces that are shiny and bright, without any surface scratches, scuffs, smudges or spindle marks on the labels. Since this is a solo piano with very quiet breaks, and I am very sensitive to playback noise, I'm play grading this record as Excellent because of occasional ultra low level surface noise, most noticeable during the quiet sections of playback, but otherwise, the rest of the record plays without skips, pops or lock-ups from start to finish. This is a beautiful recording and would be a welcome addition to anyone's collection. I have more Jazz albums, as well as records of all genres in my Ebay store. Please take a look. They're predominately Near Mint. Thank you for viewing my listing.    I've been collecting records for about 50 years now and have always cleaned them and put them away carefully in plastic inner sleeves. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative. I offer discounts for multiple sales. Photos are of the actual item for sale, not a stock photo. Please review all descriptions and photos because I do not accept returns. Thank you for looking!
