Pinup model and actress Julie London produced an enduring debut album with this collection of classic pop standards delivered with perfect minimalism. In the 1950s, a whole lot of vocal pop was accompanied by melodramatic strings and/or big band orchestras. The approach of London's voice simply singing the songs in front of laid-back electric guitar and bass, combined with the cigarettes-after-sex tone of London's vocals, makes for a very seductive listen. In the long run, her musicality became her calling card and legacy, despite a successful late-career run as an actress on a popular TV series, Emergency!

Personnel: Julie London (vocals); Barney Kessel (guitar); Ray Leatherwood (bass); Bobby Troup (producer).

Note: I haven't cleaned this 60-year-old record because everybody seems to prefer their own methods. I'll leave the cleaning up to the buyer. Also, I'm not a professional vinyl seller or buyer. This comes from my own collection.

Enjoy the auction — and good luck!
