DESCRIPTION
Buddy Rich - “The Wailing Buddy Rich” Norgran Records MGN-1078 (Mono) from 1956. Hard to Find Original Deep Groove First Pressing of this great Jazz album from Buddy Rich and a great band featuring Harry “Sweets” Edison, Joe Newman, Thad Jones, Ben Webster, Sonny Criss, Frank Wess, Freddie Greene, John Simmons, Oscar Peterson, Ray Brown and Jimmy Rowles. Great tunes and, despite what the title might imply, not just Rich going off although there are a couple solos. First pressing on the Deep Groove Black with Silver Print Norgran “Trumpeter" labels and in the Original Laminated Sleeve with no Cutouts, Promo markings or Barcode.
CONDITION
The Laminated Sleeve is in nice shape. There is some slight shelf wear and a slight ding in the lower right corner. The top seam is part split about 3” from the opening edge. It has been neatly taped inside so you hardly would notice. There is some very slight dirtiness on the white back and some slight residue from an old price tag in the upper right. Still super solid with no cutouts, writing, tears, stains, etc. and would still rate VG+. The Vinyl itself is in clean Glossy condition looking lightly played. If you look closely you can spot some slight scuffs. Plays pretty much perfectly Near Mint all through. I’m calling it EX for the very slight visual flaws but plays better and might be further improved with a better cleaning than I can give with my Discwasher brush. There are a few light spindle trails but otherwise the labels are Near Mint.

TERMS AND DEFINITIONS
Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK.
Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.
I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them. I guarantee that items I sell will meet my description, nothing more or less!
