Released in 1986 by Reader’s Digest this 7-Record Boxed Set Commemorates the Life & Music of Rock & Roll’s King.

Take a Look at the Index of 84 Songs & You’ll Find Songs From Every Phase of Elvis’s Monumental Career. The material here is about evenly divided between studio recordings and recordings of live Presley performances. There are also four early Presley TV performances on Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey’s “Stage Show”, “The Milton Berle Show” and “The Ed Sullivan Show”. And one side of one disc is given over to excerpts from Presley`s 1968 “comeback” TV special.

The collection’s songs run from ‘50s material such as “Mystery Train” and “That’s All Right” to ‘70s numbers such as “Burning Love” and “Kentucky Rain.” Many of Presley`s big pop-rock hits are here, often in live versions, as are a few country numbers and a healthy helping of sad or “reflective” ballads.
