It's pretty easy, if you're less than a hardcore fan of Pink Floyd to overlook an album that's sandwiched between the glories of Dark Side Of The Moon and Wish You Were Here on one side, and The Wall on the other. For many years I'd enjoy the hell out of the amazing heavy Rocker Sheep (Which is one of the three hardest songs Floyd has ever done) and occasionally sit back and mellow out to Dog and ignore the rest. But repeated listens revealed to me a true masterpiece. Pigs (Three Different Ones) is an incredible song if you take the time to understand it. And Pigs on the Wing (Parts 1 & 2) are incredibly wistful and melancholic. What Animals is is yet another masterpiece from a band that produced masterpieces with alarming regularity.
