This is an auction for one vinyl SPK "Metal Dance" b/w "Will to Power" 12" 45, 1 USED vinyl record on Desire Records 1983. Record and sleeve are in excellent condition!
Long before bands like Nine Inch Nails or Ministry were born and sold thousands of "Industrial" CDs, there was Throbbing Gristle, Monte Cazazza and SPK, and although modern industrial records, if there are any, are certainly better produced, use more modern synthesizers and enjoy a much wider audience, they lack what this music offers, and that is the sound that produces nightmares. Every title is an exhausting trip into the depth of insane souls, often too painful to endure. You certainly have to be a strong-minded person to survive this record, but it is worth every drop of cold sweat.
The early days of industrial music are something of a hit-n-miss affair. For every astounding, groundbreaking release that explores aural darkness and hazard, there seemed to be another that was just lame noisemongering. Well, "Information Overload" definitely does not fall into the latter bin. In fact, I consider this band to be perhaps one of the most harrowing, disturbing aural groups of the early period of industrial. This isn't one for listening to in the dark, to say the least. Violent, pounding percussion sits side by side with brain-splintering electronics, layered all around with disturbing noises, tapes that sound like clandestine terrorist bug-recordings or some snuff-film soundtrack, all drenched in a nightmare atmosphere that evokes a Hammer film as viewed on some dangerous, toxic CIA-created hallucinogen. Hell probably sounds like this. In short, this is perhaps one of the truly great industrial works...critical, essential listening for anyone with an ear for darkness! We ship in sturdy cardboard mailers designed to protect vinyl. Will gladly ship internationally.
