Here is the most pristine and beautiful vinyl on this release that I've ever seen. And the jacket is super nice too! NM/NM all around.
For your background, this is a live performance recorded in March of 1968, and not released until around 1971...by which time the unknown guitarist, Jimmy Page, was world-famous in a band that was first called New Yardbirds, and quickly became Led Zeppelin.
It's one of the last recordings of this band which was in the process of breaking up, though they sure did bring a great live show. If you're an archeologist, there's a cut on here called "I'm Confused" which turns out to be the first-ever recording of what would become "Dazed and Confused"!
The great liner notes are by Lenny Kaye, who at that time was a wonderful rock writer and within a few years would himself become the life-long guitarist with the Patti Smith Group.
The album was released on Epic, with Jimmy Page's name on the cover of course, and had almost no sales, and disappeared. When people started pressing fake copies of it (with a black-and-white cover and diabolical sound quality), Columbia took another look and pressed a few more on their oddball "Columbia Special Products" series, with the red label and better quality vinyl than the original had been--and this is ever more rare than the Epic version was.
There you have it, and here it is, and it's one of the great live rock records in incredible condition.
