Condition Description & Other Information ## This is a highly sought after HARD BOP Jazz Classic pressed in England on 10" Vinyl ##  This album comes up for sale only very occasionally, and when it does it sells easily over $100.00... One has not shown up on Discogs for a few years now & the only one available is in Spain & the seller wants $476.00 plus postage. ## George Wallington's talent is 'Freakish'... his improvisations are beyond the scope of even the best jazz performers of the time!! From 1943 to 1953, Wallington played with Dizzy Gillespie, Joe Marsala, Charlie Parker, Serge Chaloff, Allen Eager, Kai Winding, Terry Gibbs, Brew Moore, Al Cohn, Gerry Mulligan, Zoot Sims, and Red Rodney, and recorded as a leader for Savoy and Blue Note (1950). Wallington toured Europe in 1953 with Lionel Hampton's big band. In 1954-60, he led bands in New York that contained rising musicians including Donald Byrd, Jackie McLean, and Phil Woods. ## Cont'd...  The Vinyl is described as Excellent & boy did it play awesomely well during today's play-test, average to below average background for Vinyl from 1957 and no skips or stops.. Both run-ins have above average background for 2 seconds before the music begins. Several spindle marks to both labels. There are a reasonable number of fine hairlines & sleeve marks to both sides of the record. The Vinyl has retained much of its rich waxy lustre. The Cover is described as VG+. There is some visible edge/spine & corner-wear. There are some fine cracks to spine & edges with associated wrinkles. There is some minor ring wear to front & verso. There are some colour losses to edges & spine. There are some areas of foxing to front & verso. The spine has been nicely taped as has the bottom edge. A 3cm tear, front cover at open edge half way up has been repaired with tape internally & externally. Couple of minor stains here & there.  Please see attached photos...
