Ustad Ali Akbar Khan RAGA KIRWANI - Water Lily Acoustics first (and ONLY) vinyl LP pressing. Stunning all-analogue recording, from THE 20th century master of the Sarod (the Raga Kirwani is performed with Sarod, Tabla, and Tambura). I first became aware of the Water Lily Acoustics label with the 1993 CD release of Ry Cooder's "A Meeting By The River," which at the time was one of the best-sounding CDs I had ever heard (and thank goodness in 2008 Analogue Productions released a GORGEOUS 2lp 45rpm edition of that title, which was a dream come true. HIGHEST recommendation and still in print and available at Acoustic Sounds). I started hunting down every Water Lily LP I could find. This LP is so stunning that, like most of the records I sell on Ebay, I kept a sealed "backup" copy, which is now on offer. Now's your chance to get this LONG out of print rarity at a fair market price!
Here are some notes about the recording: Recorded with one stereo pair (ORTF set-up) of Milab LC25 transformerless line-level microphones. Recorder: Nagra T-Audio (15I.P.S. CCIR). Tape: Agfa PEM 468. Mastered by John Dent at the Sound Clinic , London, on a custom built all tube cutting system designed by Tim de Paravicini of Esoteric Audio Reseach.

IMPORTANT: The LP has very small bumps to the lower left and right corners (please see Pictures 3 and 4).

NOTE: The outer shrink wrap tends to reflect the image of the overhead ceiling fixture. If you see a round white/blue circle on the cover, that is the reflection. 

ABOUT SHIPPING AND HANDLING: Please note there is a $3 fee included in Ebay's estimate of Media Mail shipping costs. I believe the best way to way to ship an LP includes a 13"x14"x3" "pizza" style box, 12"x12" cardboard flats, outer shopping bag, and bubble wrap. The shipping boxes alone cost me over $3 each, and the average total cost of shipping materials is around $4.72, so this is NOT a money-maker for me. However, it does ensure, consistently, that these high value LPs arrive safely. Please check my feedback and I think you'll see that buyers appreciate the care with which these precious artifacts are handled. 

COMBINED SHIPPING: I am more than happy to combine shipping. Ebay buyers pay the actual postage costs. If a single LP is purchased, the buyer pays actual postage and $3 for shipping materials. If two LPs are purchased, the buyer pays actual postage and $3 for shipping materials. If three or more LPs are purchased, the buyer pays actual postage and $0 for shipping materials (I will absorb the cost of materials). As the final amount can only be calculated after auctions have ended, I will issue the appropriate refund on the day the LPs are shipped.
