This is the rare original deep groove RVG-stamped pressing of “Bird Feathers” on the yellow labels of Prestige 8204. The record is in near-new condition with a beautiful luster; perhaps played once. The laminated cover is in extraordinary condition – bright and clean throughout; ¾” clear tape on the bottom seam, at the opening. Original glassine inner sleeve is included. Personnel include Jackie McLean, John Jenkins, Hal McKusick, Gene Quill, Phil Woods, Eddie Costa, Doug Watkins, and Art Taylor. The rarity of this LP is a function of it being on the early 8000 series of Prestige, before it was transitioned to the New Jazz series. The first pressings (of which there are very few) have the yellow label, not the purple. $500.00.
