This ep is Mint having only been played one time. Rooted in the 1980s  scene, Butthole Surfers quickly became known for their chaotic and disturbing live shows, , and a sound that incorporated elements of , ,  and, later, , as well as their use of sound manipulation and tape editingThe "Davis" in the album's title is a reference to American  , while the "socket" alludes to the socket of his left eye, which he lost in an automobile accident in 1954. The album's original cover concept called for an image depicting  spewing from Davis' eye socket. The commissioned piece did not match the band's expectations though, and they decided to use a different cover image while keeping the concept's name.[]

According to  , he acquired the eventual cover image by chance while purchasing  from an acquaintance in . The image's photographer was at the acquaintance's residence for the same reason, and happened to have his portfolio with him. After a session of  drinking and impromptu guitar playing, Leary accidentally caused some of the photographer's photos to fall on the floor. One of these pictures was a group shot depicting the young girl seen on Cream Corn's cover, but surrounded by six older models. Leary commented that he liked it, the photographer gave him the photo and its reproduction rights, and the girl's picture was cropped, blown up, and used on the EP's U.S. cover.

The cover image that has become most associated with the EP was not used on its original American pressing; it featured a plain green sleeve and a clear record, and was marketed as a pre-release edition.(wiki)

Thanks for looking at my auction I grade according to the Goldmine standards I have listed below. All of the records I sell have been professionally cleaned and inspected. Many of them I play grade as well. When I play grade them I do so on a Dual with a Shure V15-IV. I offer free shipping with the USPS media mail. If you would like expedited shipping it can be arranged and I am sorry but I do not accept returns. If you have any issue with the vinyl you buy let me know I work on a case by case basis and I have not failed to make my customers happy yet. I am a collector of records and have high standards for what I sell. I regularly purchase records on eBay and often I'm disappointed with the inconsistencies and inaccuracies in grading. I am always honest with my grading and more often than not I under grade in order to please the buyer. Feel free to check and read my feedback. Bid with confidence and good luck!!
