This is the rare original deep-groove RVG-etched “P”-pressing of Art Blakey “Orgy in Rhythm, Volume 2” on the West 63 St, New York 23 labels of Blue Note 1555. The beaded rim playing surface is immaculate, with a like-new luster; perhaps played once. Similarly, the laminated West 63rd cover with the original serif typeface is also in extraordinary condition – clean and bright throughout; three small lamination flakes at the top of the spine; previous owner’s name stamped at the top left corner of the back slick.
Personnel includes Art Taylor, Jo Jones, Sabu, Herbie Mann, Ray Bryant, and Wendell Marshall.
