This is the rare original deep-groove RVG-etched “P”-pressing of Art Blakey “Orgy in Rhythm, Volume 1” on the West 63rd St., New York 23 labels of Blue Note BLP 1554. The flat rim playing surface is in virtually new condition, with a high luster; perhaps played once. Similarly, the laminated West 63rd cover with the original serif typeface is also in extraordinary condition - clean and bright throughout – with normal darkening at the edges of the back slick.
Personnel include Art Taylor, Jo Jones, Sabu, Herbie Mann, Ray Bryant, and Wendell Marshall.
