This is part of a large Pink Floyd collection I have been selling over a few months now. I still have around 100 albums still to list, including many UK 1st pressings of most titles, some multiple times too. Due to the huge amount of vinyl this collection involves, I have not got the time to play-grade every album. I will fully play-grade any of significant value, otherwise it is a visual appraisal. As I have been collecting vinyl since 1968, I feel I have a good idea of sound quality versus visual appearance! I do of course refund in full if the album is of a lesser quality than my grading. No attempts at part refunds please. Been had too many times on that one!
PLEASE NOTE:- My gradings are as per Record collector magazine. I NEVER grade an opened album as near mint or mint. A grade of that calibre is highly unlikely for a vinyl of 30, 40 or 50+ years old. I see them listed all the time. Near mint or whatever, then the seller goes on to describe marks, the odd crackle, click or pop. Lets be honest. My top grade for an unsealed vinyl album is excellent plus (Ex+), and if that is the grade you can be sure of a pretty special vinyl!
All of my albums come with a brand new heavy duty polythene protective outer cover and a brand new anti-static inner sleeve, all in the asking price.
These are 3 of the bands earliest release, spanning the years 1969 to 1971. Ummagumma, Atom heart mother and Meddle. Ummagumma and Atom are UK first presses. Meddle is a 2nd pressing. The description below is a purely visual one. Full refunds if not as described, as I have already made clear.
UMMAGUMMA:- The laminated cover is pretty much free of damage. A little ring impression, slight grubbiness here and there. Graded very good plus. Company advert inner sleeves have some light damage and discolouration, but on the whole are not that bad for around 55 years old! Grade as very good minus. The vinyl however is in superb condition. Barely played. Literally just either 1 or 2 spindle marks per side. All retain a deep glossy sheen without any marks worthy of note. Heavyweight vinyl (155g and 150g). Matrices are A1/B2/A1/B3, no EMI box on labels. Mother and stampers are 2 GM, 1 GM, 1 GM & 1 RA, so very early press. I have no problem grading these visually as excellent plus.
ATOM HEART MOTHER:- The cover, as with Ummagumma is a little worn, but not badly. Some shelf-wear present. A small sticker tear to front top right corner. Grades very good plus. Inner sleeve is white, generic. Lightly discoloured and a little creased but very solid. Grades as very good plus. The vinyl is in great shape. A nice heavyweight 152g. No EMI box on labels. Mothers and stampers are 1  /2 AT & 2 OD, so very early press. Has a very light mark on side 2 that cannot be felt, so should not impact on the audio. Due to this mark alone I am grading down visually at very good plus.
MEDDLE:- The cover has some very light shelf-wear, hardly worth calling. Strong colour and solid construction for what is normally flimsy and damaged. Has a light crease to bottom right corner. Grades as very good plus. Inner sleeve is white generic. No issues and grades as excellent. The vinyl is in fine shape. Nice black glossy sheen. Has 2 light marks to side 2, as before, cannot be felt, so impact, if any, should be minimal. Matrices are A7 / B6, mother / stampers are 1 AG & 1 MO, so a nice early copy. Visual grade for vinyl due to marks only is very good plus.
So a very nice triple album set. Original and genuine 1st or 2nd UK presses.
Included in the sale are 2 brand new and unused coasters depicting 2 of the 3 albums for sale. Graded as mint.
