MADE IN SWEDEN were indeed listening to CREAM, and building their own vision of the style. " SNAKES IN A HOLE " 1969 2nd LP is arguably their high-point, yet their first three albums remain critically acclaimed .........
MADE IN SWEDEN were fronted by George "Jojje" Wadenius, later in Blood, Sweat and Tears (1972-76), whose unique guitar style was key to their sound. The original trio with Bosse Häggström and Slim Borgudd made 3 studio albums and a live album (plus contributions to a soundtrack work) before splitting up. The 1976 reformation was more of a super-group, also involving drummer Vesa Aaltonen (Tasavallan Presidentti) , Pekka Pohjola (Wigwam) from Finland on bass Absolutely outstanding pressing of this amazing record - can't praise it enough!
This vinyl ORIGINAL sounds fantastic with great dynamics. Gatefold is laminated and looks stunning.
This is a must-have, definitely recommended! Stated to be jazzy-rock, but really is far more rock than jazz, ala CREAM's "rock jazz" tag. Very energetic and experimental, being recorded in 1969 means that the sound is from the throw-back of 60's era, meshed with a type of psychedelic music, jazzy and blues influenced fitting into what was happening back when.

This album may well be time spent for the listener!
The opener and title track ((SNAKES IN A HOLE)) has the singular characteristic of crazy vocals closing each phrase and is mainly a blues based with the inclusion of an electric violin with wah-wah. The bass is remarkable too. Clean, perfectly fit for purpose, and also the guitar riffs are very-very good all over the place.
"Discotheque People" is very interesting. Vocals are on a cool slow funky base. Good solos by guitar (of course.)
"Give Me Whisky" is a Hendrixian song based on a bass riff. A sort of acid blues injected by a psychedelic part quite similar to the final of Pink Floyd's "Bike" then it reprises with vocal and guitar in synch as typical in-rock-blues with a jazz hue. It's the kind of song that is liked to be listened to in some "situations."
"Kristallen Den Grymma" unfolds as a very nice jazzy track on which all the players find space for their virtuosity. On this track one may listen to find the bassist particularly remarkable. Honorable mention "Little Cloud" is a very good rock-blues track while "Big Cloud" is more funky and groovable.
IN ALL, most will agree about the overall keeper-rating.
