PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us.  Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable.  We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over +21,000 positive feedback.   We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! ORIGINAL 1972 FIRST PRESS Complex HARD ROCK PROGRESSIVE Hard Find BEST New Trolls
..|/\|...............................................|/\|.. ~ The NEW TROLLS ~ "UT" ..|/\|...............................................|/\|.. ITALY - FONIT CETRA - LPX 20
Awesome 1972 Original ...this is considered 'the one' ... the mighty New TROLLS were of the earliest of progressive groups having issued several collectible Lp's, with "UT" considered their best.
Final Collection Copy

Rare Original 1972 first pressing in nice gatefold sleeve...known as the NEW TROLLS
Big-One when talking Italian progressive rock high points of the TROLLS career...
It's no secret this album, recorded and released at the end of 1972 polarized the band. It brought a temporary end to the original 60's NEW TROLLS. The reason was guitarist Vittorio de Scalzi wanted to continue the progressive-artrock route of NEW TROLLS and their other guitarist (and vocalist) Nico di Palo favored a hard & heavy underground rock approach. And because of that, the group split, with Nico di Palo forming a group that would become "Ibis", and Vittorio de Scalzi, with some legal problems continued the NEW TROLLS name, but had to continue on as "N.T. ATOMIC SYSTEM." However -- the album UT brought in keyboardist Maurizio Salvi, who would hop on to Ibis (in which he was responsible for the wonderful keyboard work to Sun Supreme).
"UT" is actually, and it's only 1972 mind you, The New Trolls FIFTH album -- a veteran group that lasted unusually long and would produce shorter-lived offshoots.

Back story: The New Trolls appeared in '67 as a psychedelic group releasing hard blues-rock singles (and later compiled into their second eponymous album), before releasing the first concept album of the peninsula (even if it is a bit confused and not really prog). From 71 onward, New Trolls will hit their stride with "Concerto Grosso", "Searching For A land" and this up-swing album, "UT"  considered their best.  The New Trolls sound is now full-blown progressive rock with lots of classical influences - but the devilish metallic Sabbath grinding guitar serves as an album awakening. Not really lucky is the incredibly bland artwork, slightly better is the innerfold of this gatefold, the group developed a surprisingly tough-sounding hard-progressive sound with backdrops of tasteful symphonic creativity -- but there is again little doubt who's the leader of the group: singing lead guitarist Nico Di Palo, though right behind him is keyboardist Maurizio Salvi, which comes in handy since second guitarist Vittorio De Scalzi is quite discreet on this album - he would leave soon after this album's release. In some ways "UT" is even more metallic than the huge sound of the De De Lind album!
Opening on a gong-bang, "UT" is strongly heading into a deeply rich classical arrangement, which will be followed by another bong of the gong featuring keyboards leading into a short head-twisting jammer (22nd Century) full-speed ahead, an all sails deployed scorcher.
Horseman Of Lake Ontario is quite a different ride starting smoothly, after a marching drum (and ending in one too) but soon the two guitars are adopting evil Black Sabbath stances - an almighty crunch of doom (hinting at the flipside's epic), but the end of the track is dominated by constant key changes. The following Foglia starts out on acoustic guitar and delicate vocals, maintaining throughout the song, and guitarist Di Palo pulls in some lovely electric leads. Nato Adesso is more of a Focus-type of number with Di Palo sounding like Jan Akkerman with lengthy complex rhythms & soloing while Salvi pulls in the Strings ARP synth lines behind it. Excellent.
The second side starts out on the monstrous "Troppa Guerra", entertained with its Black Sabbath Iommi-esque guitar riffs and often trading space with more pastoral moments; the many different parts mesh well into each other and can make the unaware a bit dizzy. This is one of Italy's prog more surprising songs and yet another highlight of an overall great album that grows with repeat plays.
