Hello and Welcome. Beginning in the 1960s, I made it my goal to collect every 5-star record still available, and I continued my search for 40 years. While not all the records I list for sale reached that lofty goal, they do represent an undying search for the unique and wonderful in the world of sound. I'm happy to be able to offer them to you now. Here is what you're bidding on:
TITLE/ARTIST: "Kookie: Star of '77 Sunset Strip'" by Edd "Kookie" Byrnes on the Warner Bros Records label (W 1309) in vintage original monaural sound, issued circa 1959.
CONDITION OF VINYL: VG++(Vinyl glows with shiny warmth and very few light scuffs - visually graded using special daylight-balanced spotlight). CONDITION OF JACKET: VG+(Jacket has overall age/rub wear, plus splits at top and bottom openings that are several inches long; includes small name sticker at top left corner; SPECIAL NOTE: Includes the original full-color WB inner sleeve - please see photos of actual album offered).
SPECIAL FEATURES: Very rare Warner Records mono pressing of this Edd Byrnes classic, recorded in beautiful deep-groove vinyl. Wonderful back-cover notes by Kookie's co-star Efrim Zimbalist Jr. Other singers with Kookie include Connie Stevens and Joanie Sommers, with arrangements by Don Ralke. And, yes, there are the usual WB recommendations of OTHER label artists!
TRACKS: Hot Rod Rock, Kookie's Mad Pad, I Don't Dig You Kookie, Saturday Night On Sunset Strip, The Kookie Cha Cha, Kookie Kookie Lend Me Your Comb, Like I Love You, Kookie's Clock, You're the Top, Square Dance for Round Days, A You're Adorable, and Kookie's Boogie.
SPECIAL NOTES: All of our albums are visually graded, but we will gladly play them to confirm condition. Please email us if you would like that service. RATING SYSTEM: New (sealed in original wrap); Near Mint (very light wear and uniform glossy vinyl appearance; one or two light rubs on jacket surface or corner); VG++ (light wear that is visible but not audible; light wear to jacket edges or corners); VG+ (many marks on record surface that are lightly audible during quiet passages; small splits, marks, or tears on jacket); VG (surface covered with light scuffs or marks that are audible during all but loudest passages; jacket extensively marked, split, or torn: note: we only sell this grade on very rare records).
