AMG 4 1/2 STARS: This is yet another straight reissue of 's first album, , which originally appeared on LP from Specialty Records in 1957, and was then reissued on Lp by Ace Records in 1985, and in several guises since. The good news is that these mono recordings, engineered by and full of New Orleans backbeat and 's gospel-inspired and over-the-top vocals, are stone-cold classics no matter how one hears them. From "Tutti Frutti" to "Ready Teddy," "Long Tall Sally," "Rip It Up," and "Jenny Jenny," each of these tracks is part of the very bedrock of rock & roll.
Condition: The sleeve grades EX, with some light corner dents and a small sticker on the back-this is how it was sold- see photo. The record grades MINT. Original anti-static, dust free, archival sleeve. Check out my feedback score; you won't be disappointed.
