Another from my personal collection of over 50,000 UK albums that I have collected over a period of more than 45 years! 1st UK pressing of Lindsy Buckingham and Stevie Nicks 1980 "Buckingham Nicks" album  on the Polydor labels. This album was purchased from new and originally only ever played to record to tape and then stored in a case with the vinyl separated from the cover and sleeve for protection. Buckingham Nicks is probably the sole studio album by the American rock duo Buckingham Nicks.

Produced by Keith Olsen, the album was released in September 1973 by Polydor Records.

Buckingham Nicks is notable as an early commercial collaboration between Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham, both of whom later joined Fleetwood Mac.

The album was a commercial failure on its original release, and despite the duo's subsequent success, it has yet to be commercially remastered or re-released on any format since 1973.

The rights are now with the former couple as the original company Anthem (not the Canadian label of Rush fame) has long since become defunct.

Prior to recording the album Buckingham Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks performed together in the band Fritz. The pair met while they were both attending Menlo-Atherton High School in Atherton, California, south of San Francisco.

At the time, Nicks was a senior in high school and Buckingham, one year younger than her, was a junior. According to Nicks, they first met at a casual after-school gathering in 1966.

Nicks and Buckingham found themselves harmonizing to what some accounts claim was a Beach Boys song, although Nicks herself claims they sang “California Dreamin',” a hit single by The Mamas and The Papas, in an interview she gave with The Source in 1981. Nevertheless, Nicks and Buckingham did not collaborate again for another two years.

In 1968, Buckingham invited Nicks to sing in Fritz, a band he was playing bass guitar for with some of his high school friends. Nicks talks about joining Fritz in an interview with Us Magazine from 1988:

Although Nicks and Buckingham never performed their own, original music while in Fritz, the band provided them with the opportunity to gain experience on stage, performing in front of crowds while opening for wildly successful rock and roll acts.

Grace Slick of Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin of Big Brother and the Holding Company and Jimi Hendrix, whom Fritz also opened for, would all prove influential on Nicks and her developing stage persona.

The band manager, David Forrester, worked hard to secure a record deal for Fritz, although their sound was not exactly fitting with the harder, psychedelic music of their more popular contemporaries. The pair continued to perform with Fritz for three years until the band finally dissolved in 1971.

Having developed a romantic relationship in addition to their working partnership, Nicks and Buckingham decided soon afterwards to move from San Francisco to Los Angeles to pursue their dreams of being signed.

The Vinyl
On initial visual inspection the vinyl looks absolutely superb, Just like it has just come from the shop in my opinion, and I can't see or feel any scratches or marks that would cause any loud constant clicks or pops at all! Any marks that could possibly be seen would be light whypsy surface scuffs and sleeve removal type only.. ,  This lays perfectly flat on the turntable and are free from any warping. (Note! I have double checked this) The vinyl looks superb, still retaining its original glossy sheen from new.  (no) deep needle scratches or marks that would cause any loud constant clicks or pops at all!

The Audio Quality
I have played the vinyl prior to listing on a top system at very loud volume! The audio is superbe cristal clear and very vibrant throughout! Top audio seperation on all frequencies only heard like this on early original 1st pressings! Note! This is the best sounding copy that I have heard,, so vibrant and clear, you will not find a better sounding album!  Importantly there were no loud constant clicks/ticks, pops or any jumps truly awesome and very rare for a 1st pressing. The audio is graded at Near as Mint in my opinion!

PLEASE NOTE! I always add this disclaimer! I have played this album prior to listing as usual and have given my honest opinion on the audio quality. Please remember this is a 43 years old original vinyl (not a reissue) Please allow for the odd interference/static/crackle/tick but importantly nothing consistant through out the audio! Please remember  that this would have been originally played on a system that is 43 years old!
All indications i.e. that this vinyl has (not) been overplayed and in fact looks barely ever played, I would even say looks totally unplayed in my personal opinion (No spider marks or traces!), at least no more than one or two times in my opinion and the audio quality superbe on all frequencies.

The labels
This features the "Polydor" labels. These are superbe I can't see any spider marks at all on the labels, (even when angled to the light) and little if (no) spindle ware! This vinyl looks almost as unplayed in my personal opinion!

The Record Sleeve
This is the original white poly lined sleeve. No splits or tears. Superb for 43 years old like this!  The vinyl is now and has always been stored seperately from the sleeve. Note This is the original!

The cover

The original 1st issue un-laminated cover  cover is absolutely superbe!  Rarely seen in decent top and Near Mint condition like this one.  There are (no) edge splits or tears.   The spine is generally lovely and  square   A truly superbe example rarely seen like this.!  Super glossy  No rubbing or ring wear worth to mention. No real nasty creases at all, Any imperfections, are not noticed unless looked for in my opinion.  Must be at least Very Near Mint  in my opinion rarely ever seen like this after 43 years on this cover!

An archive copy Never Need To Upgrade!
