Hello and welcome. Beginning in the 1960s, I made it my goal to collect every 5-star record still available, and I continued my search for 40 years. While not all the records I list for sale reached that lofty goal, they do represent an undying search for the unique and wonderful in the world of sound. I'm happy to be able to offer them to you now. Here is what you're bidding on:
TITLE & ARTIST: "The Sound of Harlem: Jazz Odyssey Volume III" - by Various Jazz Artists on the Columbia Record "Two Eye" label (C3L-33), in beautiful original monaural sound, issued in 1964.    CONDITION: BOX - Near Mint(Box is in beautiful condition with extremely light corner wear and some light soiling to its white covers, owing to careful storage; NOTE: Front cover painting is by Milton Glaser - please see actual box set in photos); VINYL - Near Mint(Vinyl (all three records) are glowing and clean, ready to bring you the best jazz you've ever heard - visually graded under special daylight balanced spotlight).
SPECIAL FEATURES: This collection is almost beyond description. It's a tribute to Columbia Records as much as anybody. In the mid-sixties, when everyone was jumping on the "Re-Channel Stereo" bandwagon, CBS (and RCA too with its Vintage Jazz series), chose to remaster these incredible vintage jazz records in perfectly clean original MONO sound. In fact, they truly do sound better than the originals (although there is undisputed charm to the light rasp of a 78, eh?). Then they added a definitive 40-Page Booklet filled with information and photos from the age. Any further discussion would be damning with faint praise. Here's the low down: Don't miss this jewel.
TRACKS: Please read the titles from the photo of the back cover, and if you have problems with that, just send me a request and I'll send them your way.
Thanks! If you have further questions about condition or content, please don't hesitate to ask. You may bid with unworried confidence. Our sales history is your assurance of absolute integrity. Thank you and good luck.
OUR GRADING SYSTEM: We grade visually, and we are happy to listen to any LP and give you an aural grade as well. SS (Still Sealed as from the factory); NM (Near Mint - our highest grade; the vinyl has only a very few light marks that do not affect play); VG++ (Very Good Plus Plus - a few more light marks than Near Mint; still a great record that plays near perfectly); VG+ (Very Good Plus - an enjoyable, played and loved, obviously used but still listenable record, usually with some light pops, but free of major audible distraction; jacket may be lightly worn, slightly dinged, even very lightly split, but NEVER trashed); VG (Very Good) and below - we usually do NOT sell these, but if we have some good reason to offer such a record, we will explain completely).
