Here is a selection of 5 shellac albums of classical music. All were released in the 1930s or '40s, and came from friends and family who recently gave away their collections to me. You'll receive:
Rhythmic Activities: Volume 1 for Primary Grades RCA Victor Records E-71 Released 1947. Four 10" record set containing various styles of classical music (gavottes, adagios, barcarolles, and so on) to young children in school. This set belonged to my grandaunt, Verna Sisk, and would have been used in music teaching instruction. All tracks are separated by locked bands, so the teacher would not have to lift the needle to prevent the record from moving on to the next track. Records all VG to VG+. These were well cared-for and have minimal surface noise for their vintage. Jacket VG to VG+, with edgewear present, a cloth label that says "Miss Sisk" on the front, and some fading from being in bright light, but no problems with the binding or cardboard enders.
Marek Weber and his Orchestra - Schubert Melodies Columbia Records C-109 Released ca. 1946? Four 10" record set that belonged to the uncle of one of my aunts, Elmer Hansen. Records VG+, with very light noise and very clean sides. These were well-treated! Jacket VG to VG+, with the start of a light spine break along the top, and some wear to the corners.
Andre Kostelanetz and his Orchestra - The Music of Victor Herbert Columbia Masterworks M-415 Released ca. 1948? Four 12" records that belonged to the uncle of one of my aunts, Elmer Hansen. Records VG to VG+, as these are overall very nice. There's a light chip present along the edge of side 4, but thankfully this doesn't interfere with the program; just be careful when putting your needle down at the beginning. Jacket VG, due to edgewear.
Tchaikovsky: Nutcracker Suite (Philadelphia Orchestra, cond. Eugene Ormandy) RCA Victor Records DM 1020 Released ca. 1940? Three 12" records that belonged to the uncle of one of my aunts, Elmer Hansen. Records VG to VG+, as these have been well cared-for with light surface wear. Jacket VG, due to some small spine breaks at the top and bottom ends, as well as edgewear.
Chopin - Polonaise in A flat, Op. 53 #6 RCA Victor Records ("Red Seal") 11-8848 Released ca. 1940? This is a single 12" record that belonged (once more) to the uncle of one of my aunts, Elmer Hansen. I'm not sure if this had been part of a larger set or not. Record VG, due to normal surface wear and noise. Jacket generic - this one didn't come with its own jacket, so I have provided one.
Shipping via Media Mail costs $9.69, and will be packed securely with cardboard and air pillows/bubblewrap items to prevent breakage. I have many other classical and classic recordings available, so be sure to check out my other listings for great deals and combined shipping. Happy bidding!

"Quality items at reasonable prices from an eccentric merchant!"
As a math teacher and long-time record buyer with a definite passion for both vocations, I am excited to continue to make available LPs I have collected over the last twenty years but now need to winnow from my shelves. The items I will be posting include quite a range of genres and interests - soundtracks, specialty records, and albums ranging from the typical mainstream to the unexpectedly weird. Check back often to see what surprises I've got in store!
Please note my conditions of sale:
-I use Goldmine standards to rate my albums, and I seek to do so conservatively. Items will often receive both a visual check and a playgrade, so that I can review the material one last time and also listen for any differences between audible quality and my visual perception of an album's surface. If there are any potential flaws in an item, I will make sure you know about those upfront. As a rule, I will not attempt to sell records that rate below VG for the total package (unless the item in question is rare or hard to come by). Because I deal largely in used stock and will be thorough in explaining an item's condition, please note that all sales are "as is" and final - returns are not accepted.
-I ship through USPS services to destinations in the U.S. only. All records will be packed sturdily with quality outer cardboard, with records and innersleeves removed from jackets to avoid seam splits on used items. Because of the demands of my work schedule, shipments typically go out twice a week, by Wednesday (for albums paid for during the previous weekend) and by Saturday (for all later payments). Whenever possible, I crank out shipments faster than this, so rest assured you'll get your order quickly.
-I will accept payments for items through PayPal only. Immediate payment is required with Buy It Now. If you win one or more of my items sold as auction listings, please make sure items are paid for within 7 days of the listing's end. Please note that I open failure-to-pay cases against those who do not pay or make any attempt to communicate with me within my stated timeframe. Please do not bid or commit to buy if you don't intend to follow through with a payment.
-Shipping will be at cost to the buyer, through Media Mail. I charge a starting fee of $3.33 for one album, then 50 cents per each additional LP in your order.
-I will always be willing to combine shipping on multiple wins/purchases. Just make sure to request an invoice prior to completing your purchase.
-A word to the wise on how I consider best offers: I often accept offers up to 30% below the listing value for my items. Please avoid lowball offers!
-The bottom line: I will make every attempt to insure your satisfaction as my customer. Let me know of any problems prior to posting negative or neutral feedback, as this will help me to refine my services and better serve my fellow record collectors out there. Enjoy!
