In this auction is definitely one of the “Holy Grails” of Bob Dylan LPs and vinyl collecting! In fact, critics often rank “Blonde On Blonde” as one of the greatest albums of all time!

In this auction:

BLONDE ON BLONDE” LP by Bob Dylan

This LP is Columbia Records C2L 41.

It is a DOUBLE VINYL LP in a GATEFOLD COVER.

It is a MONO (Monaural) LP that was released June 20, 1966.

The LP in this auction is the ORIGINAL FIRST MONO PRESSING with the 2-eye Columbia labels.

This double-vinyl LP has several Bob Dylan “signature” tunes on it including “Rainy Day Women #12 & 35”, “I Want You”, “Memphis Blues Again”, and “Just Like A Woman”.

The vinyl comes in the ORIGINAL FIRST PRESSING COVER that has photos of two women inside the gatefold. A photo of Italian actress Claudia Cardinale was used without her authorization, so she threatened to sue. As a result, the cover was withdrawn and both women photos inside the gatefold cover were removed from all subsequent covers of this LP.

The GATEFOLD COVER is in STRONG VG to WEAK VG+ CONDITION. The cover has light to moderate overall wear. There is a just a hint of light partial ring wear on the front cover above Dylan’s head and near the bottom of his scarf and on the rear cover some light partial ring wear near the left edge and bottom. There is some wear on the edges of the spine seen in the image of the front and rear cover spread open completely. There is light edge wear and some moderate wear on the corners. There are a couple of small light creases. There are NO SEAM SPLITS and NO TEARS. The name “T SHOUP” is written lightly in blue ballpoint in the middle of the spine (beside Claudia Cardnale’s photo) inside the gatefold cover (in a rather obscure location).

The VINYL is in VERY STRONG VG to WEAK VG+ CONDITION with very light/slight surface hairlines/scuffs. None of them are “feel-able”! And the VINYL has LOTS OF GLOSS! Two of the labels have the name “T SHOUP” written lightly in blue ballpoint.

This is a NICE HARD-TO-FIND FIRST PRESSING MONO ISSUE and WITHDRAWN COVER of this BOB DYLAN LP. It’s definitely a “Must Have!” for any vintage vinyl collection.
