Hello, thanks for looking. I'm no expert on grading vinyl, i'll try my best to evaluate the condition of both the cover and the album. I'll use the grading scale below as a guide and i'll be very conservative with my evaluation, Keep in mind I am only visually assessing the condition of the jacket and vinyl. And I also list detail everything, where others don't. Time consuming, YES!!  I encourage you to ask questions, before biding, I will answer honestly. Good Luck!!! - Jason

Introducing... The Beatles LP Columbia - Terre Huate Pressing

CONDITION- Jacket: VG  / Vinyl: G (maybe VG)

The Jacket / Sleeve: I'm hoping the pictures can speak for the grade: VG It is Solid & Stiff, there are some small creases mainly on the seam (nothing crazy), The spine is in good shape and the print is Off centered but still legible, corners are slightly rounded with age, FULL Length seam split on the bottom (SEE PHOTOs), Honestly it looks great, just that seam split. pictures tell the story.

Inner Paper Sleeve:  It's the original white paper sleeve...

The vinyl:  Good  (Possible VG) MANY thin Light surface scratches, most if not all look to be not very deep. cosmetic wear, minor cosmetic dull mark here and there, maybe small scuff or two, I have no doubt it will play, but you will def hear pops and snaps during play back.  Both label's are ok (little pin squiggles, see photo).

---------------

INFO:

This release is one of two known label variations pressed by the Columbia Records Pressing Plant, Terre Haute.

Identifying Characteristics:

- Labels: all black, with silver 'VJ' caption and lettering.

- Back cover: includes "Please, Please Me" (with comma) and "Ask Me Why"

- Labels have "Side 1" and "Side 2" in upper and lowercase letters.

- 'I Saw Her Standing There' starts with Paul's saying "Four!"

- Vee Jay Records

The runout etchings of this release are identical to those of the Monarch rainbow label release, except for the "X" ending "△ 6307X" etched on Side B. The "MR" logo stamp has been scratched out. The label used on this release is the same as shown in The Beatles - Introducing... The Beatles, which was also pressed at Columbia Records Pressing Plant, Terre Haute.

From the book "Songs, Pictures and Stories of the Fabulous Beatles Records on Vee-Jay" by Bruce Spizer:

"There are two confirmed typesetting variations, both of which were pressed by Columbia Records in Terre Haute, Indiana. Apparently Columbia was not sent any Vee-Jay label backdrops with the new brackets logo.

Grading Scale:

Mint (M): Perfect, unused in sealed original packaging.

Near-Mint (NM): Close to perfect with no visible scratches or scuffs. Appears to be un-played or played less than 5 times.

Excellent (EX): May contain 1 or 2 very tiny & light  cosmetic surface scratches and/or scuffs. Label and jacket may show slight signs of ring-wear / lightly bent corners. No creases, writing, tears or rips.

Very Good Plus (VG+): May show some signs that it was played and handled by a previous owner who took reasonably good care of it. Imperfections are cosmetic and do not drastically impact the playback. Record surfaces may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs and surface scratches. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are ok. The label and jacket may have some slight ring ring-wear, discoloration, minor tears and imperfections. As with most vinyl, there may be low-level surface noise and light crackles and pops may be present, especially during quiet or soft passages in the track.

Very Good (VG): Many of the imperfections found in a VG+ record will be more pronounced in a VG record or sleeve.

Good (G) - It doesn't mean the record is "Trashed" but its definitely been played a lot. I'll mainly use this for jackets and inner sleeves (if the record is worth selling).

Fair (F) Poor (P): I do not sell Poor (P), Fair (F). If I use these it's because the album is super rare.

Disclaimer : I do not grade LPs professionally and I am not an expert on classification. Some of the vinyl I own, I bought in bulk at yard sales or estate sales. Ask Me Questions before bidding! Please understand, I'm grading my LPs on a visual estimation. Keep that in mind, because if you bid or buy this album, I'm selling it as is. If you're really interested in this record and you think the description & photo's are missing something, Message Me! Ask questions, I will answer honestly, I will send more photo's. I'm not trying to scare away a potential customer, I'm just saying, please consider everything I said before asking for a refund. Look, there is some risk when buying used 30 - 60 year old, pre owned, vinyl? together we can cut down on that risk even eliminate it! Thanks for looking!!!
