On offer here is a VERY rare LP (especially in this condition!!!!) by David Bowie called "Hunky Dory" and is an 1971 UK Pressing on the RCA label!!!!  THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND!!!!  IN FACT, THIS IS ONE OF DAVID BOWIES RAREST LPs EVER - TO FIND AS A 100% GENIUNE UK PRESSING FROM 1971!!!!  FOR SOME REASON (MOST LIKELY BECAUSE THIS LP WAS RE-ISSUED IN AN ALMOST IDENTICAL FORMAT) PEOPLE OFTEN MISS WHAT IS ONE OF THE RAREST DAVID BOWIE LPs OF ALL TIME (THIS ONE!)!!!!  I WILL EXPLAIN JUST HOW RARE THIS LP REALLY IS:-

THIS LP WAS FIRST RELEASED IN DECEMBER 1971 AND WAS RELEASED AT A TIME WHEN DAVID BOWIE WAS VIRTUALLY A COMPLETE UNKNOWN.  SALES OF THE LPS WERE AS POOR (IF NOT POORER!) THAN HIS PREVIOUS LP ('MAN WHO SOLD THE WORLD') AND THE LP WAS QUICKLY DELETED AFTER ONLY SELLING IN TINY AMOUNTS.  AND IT WASNT UNTIL SEPTEMBER 1972 (AFTER THE MASSIVE SUCCESS OF THE 'ZIGGY STARDUST' LP RELEASED IN JUNE 1972) WHEN THIS LP WAS THEN RE-ISSUED AND RE-DISTRUBUTED AND HIT NUMBER 3 IN THE UK CHARTS.  HOWEVER, THE RE-ISSUE COPIES OF THIS LP THAT SOLD IN LARGE AMOUNTS IN LATE 1972 WERE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT TO THIS ORIGINAL PRESSING WHICH WAS FIRST RELEASED (AND FLOPPED) BACK IN DECEMBER 1971!!!!  AND AS A RESULT FINDING A 100% GENIUNE 1971 PRESSING (WITH SOME AMAZING DIFFERENCES!) IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE AND MAKES THIS LP ONE OF THE RAREST DAVID BOWIE LPs EVER MADE!!!!  I WILL EXPLAIN THE DIFFERENCES BELOW....

NOW THE FIRST DETAIL TO MAKE CLEAR IS THAT THIS LPs COVER IS NOT LAMINATED.  HOWEVER, EVERY SINGLE OTHER 1ST PRESS DETAIL IS 100% CORRECT - WHICH PROBABLY MEANS THIS ONE WAS MADE IN JANUARY 1972, RATHER THAN DECEMBER 1971.  HOWEVER, IT IS 100% CERTAIN THAT THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT ONE OF THE LATER RE-ISSUES FROM LATE 1972/EARLY 1973 - AND IS UNDOUBTEDLY ONE OF THE 'EARLIEST' PRESSINGS EVER MADE!!!!  THIS LP HAS:-

1) NO 'MAINMAN' CREDITS ANYWHERE (LATER ONES DO!)

2) THE RECORD STILL HAS 1ST PRESS 3T/3T MATRIXES (LATER ONES DON'T!)

No is SF 8244 on the 'Shiny' RCA labels (see picture) and is a UK Stereo pressing (there were NO Monos)!!!!

The record labels are in SUPERB condition (see pictures) with NO wear, NO writing, and barely ANY spindle marks AT ALL!!!!  IT IS VERY CLEAR THAT THIS RECORD HAS BARELY BEEN PLAYED AT ALL!!!!  The vinyl is in BRILLIANT condition!!!!  Most of these 60s/70s LPs had been to a lot of wild parties and are usually found totally worn out, and almost unplayable. This one is NOT and has NO scratches, only 2 or 3 MEGA light hairlines, NO scufflines, only 2 or 3 TINY surface marks, and only a VERY few of the lightest paper scuffs only visible under light!!!!  ITS AS SIMPLE AS THAT!!!!  THE RECORD STILL RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL 'JUST PRESSED LOOK AND SHINES LIKE NEW!!!!  It is also great to find that the record plays as STUNNINGLY as the visual with NO skips, barely ANY clicks, NO sticking, NO jumps, barely ANY crackle AT ALL, and only some VERY low level background sound on the run on grooves & gaps - NOT in the music AT ALL!!!!  The sound quality is simply SUPERB with NO groovewear and NO distortion either!!!!  The record must grade Very Good++ if not better!!!!  Believe me this record is NOT overgraded in ANY way!!!!  I use STRICT RC grading standards - it is not in my interest not to!!!! Brillant!!!!  The record also comes in its 1st Press inner sleeve which is in SUPERB condition!!!!  THE ULTRA RARE 'PINK-GREY' 'LYRIC' INSERT IS IN BRILLIANT CONDITION (SEE PICTURES!) with only 2 or 3 small creases, and the odd isolated 'age trace'!!!!  The 'Robert Stace' Cover is in GREAT condition!!!!  It has NO sticker marks, only some almost INVISIBLE 'touching in' traces to the edges & spine, NO splits, only VERY slight corner wear (NOT through the colour!), NO stickers, some creasing to the black edges (the large main picture has barely ANY creasing AT ALL!), NO sticker tears, NO rips, NO tears, barely ANY rubbing AT ALL, NO annotations, and NO writing!!!!  The opening edge is beautifully straight with barely ANY feathering AT ALL!!!!  Even the unlaminated back of the cover is in BRILLIANT condition with NO yellowing, NO rubbing, NO grubbyness, and NO writing!!!!  The cover must grade Very Good (PROPERLY graded, NOT trashed!) if not better - and is still a very VERY decent cover indeed!!!!  THIS LP SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND LIKE THIS (ESPECIALLY AS ONE OF THE 'EARLIEST' PRESSINGS EVER MADE!) - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITY!!!!
