Dawn of the Black Hearts is a live bootleg by the Norwegian black metal band, Mayhem. He is famous for having the photograph of the corpse of the vocalist Dead (Per Yngve Ohlin), after his suicide in April 1991.1 The photographs were taken by the guitarist Euronymous (Øystein Aarseth), after discovering the lifeless body of his partner. Despite being only a semi-official album, this famous bootleg is listed as one of the group's most important albums.
The album was originally released in 1995 by Mauricio Montoya's Warmaster Records, owner of Warmaster Records in Colombia and a friend of Euronymous. This original version contains eight songs from a concert at Sarpsborg on February 28, 1990. Mayhem live album Publication February 17, 1995 Recording February 28, 1990 in Sarpsborg, Norway Genre(s) Black metal Duration 48:33 Label Warmaster Records Recorded live in Sarpsborg, Norway on February 28, 1990 This is the "original" release of this notorious bootleg. It was released by former Masacre drummer Mauricio Montoya, who also ran Warmaster Records and features former Mayhem frontman Dead's famous suicide scene on the cover.
This is an album by a band from Oslo Norway called mayhem founded in 1985 and separated in 1992, the album that I will tell you about has one of the most controversial stories in the world of black metal and I am talking about the dawn of the black hearts.
The story begins with Perygne Onlin, better known by his stage name "Dead", the nickname is because Dead considered himself dead, buried his clothes and left them there until they acquired a rotten smell, which would stink. At the age of 10, Dead or Per was declared dead for a few minutes and hence his name that he used in the band until his suicide in 1992 before the murder of Euronymous, one of the band members.
The cover is Dead Per with a shattered skull and the image is obvious, since he would commit suicide to find out what true death is, when dead suffered depression he would go to a cabin and cut his wrists waiting to bleed, then I take a shotgun and blew his head off, the gang found out Euronymous saw dead's corpse and took several photos of it, later he would eat parts of his already broken brain and collect remains of dead's skull and make them a necklace, this obviously represented a meaning that whoever dies will be remembered with honor and here is the discography of this very very dark and strong album but at the same time very interesting.
