DEMON FUZZ - AFREAKA!

Nice condition, eminently presentable and long deleted 1970's UK 1st press rock/funk rarity, direct from the legendary BBC record archive

Year/Label : 1969 UK BELL Label number : DNLS 3013 Matrix numbers : DNLS 3013A-1G, DNLS 3013B-2G  Stampers :  C 1  /  A
Very good plus (VG+) condition vinyl -  nice, glossy, completely flat and weighty vinyl. There are some wispy hairlines and light scuff marks on each side, all of which are non-feelable and appear to be superficial except for a 1.5cm hairline on side 1 which is just feelable and results in very light background rotational clicking during the second half of A3. Another 1.5cm non-feelable hairline is present on A1 and results in x14 very light and very background rotational clicks on A1 - nothing substantial but just noticeable if you listen carefully. There is no clicking at all on side 2. For these reasons, and to be a little more specific and accurate, I would grade the condition of side 1 as VG and side 2 as VG+.  Excellent (EX) condition labels with some small and extremely faint spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each. Each label has the BBC stamp (see photo) which, for me, is the official mark of 1960/70's authenticity and only adds to the collectability of these prized LP's.  I find it difficult to grade the condition of the original outside laminated outer gatefold sleeve and I do urge you to look at my photos carefully. All edges are firm and unscuffed, including a near perfect and rigid spine, and the cover remains in overall great condition and a highly presentable state. It has two hole punches towards the right opening side to which a further "loose" gatefold polythene sleeve has been attached with a 9.5cm x 20cm sticker attached to the outside of this polythene sleeve on the front side, along with a smaller sticker to the top left, and two further stickers on the reverse side. There is also a further vertical sticker affixed to the front-side original laminate (coinciding with the hole punches) and another sticker on the original laminated reverse side. With care I am sure these stickers are removeable. But my view is why would anybody want to remove any of these stickers? For me they form an intrinsic component in the rich 55 year old story covering the origin and journey of this LP, which undoubtedly includes the handling of this record by BBC disc jockey luminaries such as John Peel, Johnnie Walker, and Annie Nightingale to name but three. What a conversation piece! This LP was once part of what is generally agreed to have been the greatest record collection on earth - these stickers authenticate and rubber stamp that, and for that reason I for one would never want to remove them!   Very good plus (VG+) stereo audio quality with no skips, jumps, repeats, sticks, distortion, or interference, and any background crackle is at an absolute minimum...virtually non-existent. There is no clicking at all on side 2 but, as already mentioned, on side 1 there is...there is some very light background rotational clicking during the second half of A3 and x14 very light and very background rotational clicks on A1 - nothing substantial but just noticeable if you listen carefully. Taking this into account the sound quality on side 1 is a solid very good and on side 2 and undoubted excellent. Each track makes for a great listen : jazz funk, jazz rock, a little bit of prog and psych - it's all here!. Comes with "Made in England" and "British patent..." poly lined inner sleeve (with 4cm and 14cm splits on each of the side edges), but I always ship in a new plain white inner sleeve in order to protect the original.    Long deleted and a true rarity - one of the very rarest UK Dawn label LP's.
POSTAGE COSTS :

For the UK £4 using Royal Mail tracked 48;

for continental Europe £12 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for,

and for the rest of the world £18 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for.

I do provide posting and packaging discounts for multiple purchases. I make no profit from postage.

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
