FAMILY STYLE - Stevie Ray Vaughan died in a helicopter crash on August 27, 1990 just as the first single from this LP, beautiful Motown Soul inspired was about to climb the charts and make the Blues Rock hero an international superstar. Thankfully, he was able to make this delightful and laid back album FAMILY STYLE with his brother. For Jimmie and Stevie Ray, it was a kind of spiritual re-union. Jimmie had followed Stevie down the road to sobriety. These New York City sessions were a spirited collaboration intended to mark the beginning of their musical partnership. While some tunes sound like the result of mere jamming, Telephone Song, is one of Stevie’s best numbers, an eloquent Blues shout with screaming guitar breaks and Jimmies B-3 organ like textures on steel guitar astound. JIMMY VAUGHAN'S FABULOUS THUNDERBIRDS "TUFF ENUFF 1986 LP".

This Dave Edmunds-produced album took Austin's best-known band and introduced them to the world in 1986. One of the best blues based rock albums ever made. Jimmie Vaughan's guitar matched with Kim Wilson's vocal and blues harp makes one hell of a ALBUM, to own  on vinyl. The two big hits, Kim Wilson's own "Tuff Enuff" and Sam and Dave's "Wrap It Up," move the band in a new R&B-flavored direction. This album encompasses the many influences that make up the T-Birds: zydeco on "Tell Me," soul music on "Two Time My Lovin' "(with Los Lobos), and a blues tribute to their home base, "Down at Antone's." This is easily the best of their three Epic releases with guitarist/singer Jimmie Vaughan.
