Brushing records simply forces dirt deeper into the grooves. It has been found that there is only one way to reliably remove 100% of all debris and contamination. Firstly we use a specially formulated fluid to dissolve oils without damaging the vinyl surface. This fluid is most effective if agitated using a brush to lift the debris into solution. Lastly the fluid and all contamination is washed away. This process can be carried out in less than 10 minutes per record using a record cleaning machine.

Cleanliness is absolutely mandatory if the optimum sonic capability of the vinyl is to be realized. A clean record will not only sound better, but last longer. It has been shown that repeated playing of soiled records can cause permanent damage to the vinyl. Preservation of valuable or irreplaceable records requires careful cleaning.  Further, stylus wear is greatly accelerated by playing dirty records, and with cartridges costing what they do these days, playing soiled records can lead to significant and unneeded expense. Dust and debris that have accumulated over time are the cause of irreparable damage to the vinyl when contacted by the stylus during play and the only way to prevent this catastrophic damage is to make certain that the grooves are scrupulously clean before the stylus ever touches the vinyl.
