1977 Teresa Teng's first hall concert in Japan. Latest cutting from full-length analog master tape
This record, which consists of two parts, the first part and the second part, is an analog recording of Teresa Teng's first full-scale concert in Japan (April 22, 1977, Yakult Hall in Shinbashi, Tokyo). ・This is a limited edition press with the latest cutting from the master tape.
When producing the record, we asked Universal Music to investigate the whereabouts of this master, and it turned out that it had been stored in strict storage as a 1/4-inch analog master tape. At the same time, the condition of the tape was very good, so we decided to make it as Teresa's precious first concert disc for "Last Concert at NHK Hall", which was previously released in this series.
All the songs included in the master sound source used this time were originally released on cassette tape at the time, and the first analog record and subsequent reprints were all excerpts. Due to recording time constraints, five songs were not recorded: "Onna Hitori," "Port Town Blues," "Hong Kong Night," "Night Passenger," and "Airport (Encore)."
Therefore, for this analog record, we decided to newly cut all the songs from the full-length original master tape, including unrecorded songs, and produce a total of 31 songs as two titles, the first part and the second part.
The full-length original master tape was brought to the cutting studio from Universal Music's archives and played on a Studer A80 master recorder by Nippon Columbia's famous engineer Shigeru Takezawa, who is familiar with Teresa's vinyl production at our company. After the sound was adjusted for cutting using the company's custom-made analog console, the master lacquer disc was finished using a Neumann cutting machine.
The vinyl record you will receive is a heavy-duty record made using press materials specially formulated by Toyo Kasei specifically for stereo sound records.
Teresa was 24 years old at the time and had just arrived in Japan, and the nuances of her Chinese intonation can be felt throughout her Japanese singing.
