Here’s an original 1967 mono pressing of the Beatles’ masterpiece, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club band. It’s on the rainbow Capitol label, number MAS 2653. This album came out as the record industry in the US was beginning to phase out the mono format, making these hard to find. In addition, the Beatles themselves considered the mono versions to be the true representation of their work. Up through the time of the White Album, the members of the band participated in making the mono mixes, leaving producer George Martin on his own to create the stereo mixes, which were regarded almost as an afterthought. This particular copy is in decent shape. The vinyl has no scratches, just a fair amount of light scuff lines from sliding around inside the cover. Vinyl grades VG+ I’ve tested played areas throughout the record, and it plays well The original psychedelic colored innersleeve and cut outs sheet are included. Cover shows light rub wear, no seam splits. Decent copy of an album that often shows up thrashed! Drop me a message if ebay doesn’t calculate shipping for you. Happy bidding!!
