Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. SUPER RARE 1966 first printing with ALTERNATE COVER DESIGN ON FRONT & BACK ... Columbia quickly withdrew this cover when "I AM A ROCK" became a sudden hit, and added the track to the front cover along wsong titles...the back cover is diferent as well ...super hard to fid this withdrawn first printing cover ...on the highly collected 360 Sound Columbia label ...

The MONO song mixes & punchy producton are quite different from the stereo release...

Released on January 17, 1966. The album's title is a slight modification of the title of the duo's first major hit, "The Sounds of Silence". The hit song was recorded before this albums release, the electric instruments and drums were overdubbed by Bob Dylan's studio band on June 15, 1965 and released in September 1965 as a single. This album followed 4 months later...

A formidable effort, "Sounds of Silence" introduced us to a songwriter whose poetic gifts and thought-provoking lyrics not only followed hot on the heels of Bob Dylan, but also produced a fresh-sounding melodic work that further strengthened the folk-rock genre. A notable precursor to more works of a profound and lasting import ("Bookends" especially), the album is definitely a timeless gem that gets forgotten until played. Probably one of the best albums from the entire era, honestly. Sound of Silence shows Paul Simon at his writing best with deeper cuts like "Richard Cory" and "A Most Peculiar Man" to go along with classics like "I Am a Rock" and the title track, this album is nearly perfect.

CONDITION: The Cover: is very solid all over with fresh colors...the front is "EX" (excellent) and looks very collectible ... the black & white back cover has a little shelf wear, but nothing bad or extreme, just lite. All said, the 48 year old pressing is collection worthy with no bends, no writing, no split seams

The Vinyl: is all very glossy over both sides, rated "EX" (excellent) and playstop level clean ... both Columbia 360 Sound labels are clean
