PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. It's hard work to combine artistic rock with heavy, evil guitar riffs and deep, bluesy vocals. Highlighted by demonic lyrics and loud razor sharp guitar leads, part bluesy played heavy and grinding. The production has a great echoey sound and the dreamy keyboard backing adds depth to the tracks. The highlight of the whole album is "Don't Look Around" arguably the best "song" Mountain ever cut with its hell-driving force bent to rip your face off! Could easily be on the "2nd Of May" May Blitz album ...

The follow-up album Nantucket Sleighride, released in 1971, reached the top 20 but failed to yield a hit single. The title track was used in the United Kingdom as the theme to ITV's Sunday political program Weekend World.

Guitarist Leslie West wanted to form a band that would sound as good as Cream. Upon realizing that old friend Felix Pappalardi had produced Cream’s Disraeli Gears, West re-established contact with him, and together they crafted West’s solo debut Mountain. There’s no question that Mountain tapped into the heavy thunder of Cream’s powerhouse attack, particularly when Pappalardi echoed Jack Bruce’s elegant bass lines and dreamily emotive vocals ..."Nantucket Sleighride" was the 2nd album release by Mountain, and rides on the heels of the major hit “Mississippi Queen” from the album “Climbing!”. Nantucket Sleighride failed to produce any hits but still remains a milestone for music history with the epic title song “Nantucket Sleighride (To Owen Coffin)”. This song is a dedication to a man, Owen Coffin, who sacrificed his life aboard a ship lost at sea after taking a sleighride. Owen was eaten by his crew mates, which ultimately saved their lives. This song is one of the best written songs to come from Mountain and the live version is simply stunning! I consider Nantucket Sleighride to be the best album from the band even though there were no charting hits. The production is top notch, with the musicianship being more polished than “Climbing!”.

West and Pappalardi were both very strong musical personalities, West with his brash-y riffs and Pappalardi with his subdued “Cream-y” production. This album almost seems to have a dividing line drawn in the sand, you can feel and hear the division between the two personalities. With that being said, let’s move on, shall we
