German Deutsche Grammophon 2740 241, copyright 1977. 8-record set of Ludwig von Beethoven's 9 symphonies (they vary in length), performed by the Berlin Philharmonic orchestra conducted by Herbert von Karajan. Vocalists include Gundula Janowitz, Christa Ludwig, Jess Thomas, Walter Berry, Vienna chorus.
These classic recordings were made 1961-1962, and have been repackaged into single-and multiple-record sets over the years, with various covers.
This particular box is dated 1977 on the insert, and is probably as good as any other editions – especially since the records appear to be NEW Unplayed in their original plastic-lined sleeves.
Hinged cover is VG+ due to minor shelf wear.
