PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us.  Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable.  We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback.   We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support.   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING:   USA ~ 1 LP = $4.00 Media Priority rates vary by area; please inquire.   All Canadian and Overseas shipping ~ Please inquire about rates. CLEAN COLLECTION COPY =

Speaker panning STEREOPHONIC shakin' the Monkees 60s beat... decidedly better (more crisp/clean audio) over the easier to find mono format. Surprisingly hard to find in clean condition as original copies were virtually played-to-death ...

Clearly they were, to some fans of sixties rock, America's answer to the Beatles, even though others at the time seethed and decided to boycott them. One thing that can't be denied was they were the best manufactured pop group ever, and in Michael Nesmith, they had a musical semi-genius. Their second album carries on from their debut. It contains the mantric garage-rock classic "(I'm Not Your) Steppin' Stone," which was highly influential to teen-scene garage bands around the universe ... elsewhere there's the highly infectious grooves on "Look Out (Here Comes Tomorrow)," and the Kinks-ish "Mary Mary" and the timeless shaker, "She" - plus the hit monster, "I'm A Believer." 50 years later the album is still euphoric and nostalgic while NOT completely marijuana-free (check Peter Torks Your Auntie Grizelda with it's groovy '60s raga edges & flipped-out sound effects...)

Long-time Monkees fans are well aware of the genesis of More of the Monkees, with the tracks assembled without input from the Monkees themselves; in fact, the Monkees often have related the story of how they had to go to a local retailer and purchase the album in order to find out what songs had been included. In fact, it was this album that eventually led to the dismissal of Irving Kirshner, the publishing mogul who had created a marketing monster with the Monkees debut disc. But the Monkees, despite their self-righteous anger over having their product pushed without their consent, really had little to be upset about, (except perhaps the atrocious JC Penny clothing they were forced to model on the cover pic), since the album itself is a tight, stylistically varied carbon copy of their first album, with a sprinkling of rockers, ballads, culminating in an album filled with "hit" numbers, including the vocal debut of Peter, who had been cut out of the first album entirely! Overall the album features extremely well crafted pop-rock shakers, featuring many catchy tunes and great song writing. This is what ALL pop-rock '60s albums have striven to emulate. As well, some minor psych influences make their presence known on this one.
