GREATEST HITS I (UK release)

This is a very early pressing of Queen's iconic Greatest Hits LP as it has the first matrix number of B1 on Side Two.  Making it even more collectible is the fact that it has been barely played and is in wonderful condition.

Visual grading

The first thing you notice about this vinyl is how superbly clean it looks.  I cannot detect a single hairline or scratch and it looks hardly played, a stunning example.  It has that glossy look of new vinyl and is so rare to find one in this condition being the greatest selling LP in the UK. 

Play grading

'Bohemian Rhapsody' simply plays with stunning audio and because there is no lead in static you immediately think this is going to play well!  There is no interference across the whole track and plays as new.  In fact this is true of the whole side and I have quite honestly never heard better audio for this LP.  I very rarely grade as Mint but I'm going to here!

Side Two begins with 3/4 light clicks but thereafter it plays as per Side One.  There is no interference, no clicks or skips and complete silence between tracks.  When you consider this LP is now 35 years it is so rare to find one in this condition let alone a B1 pressing.  'We Are The Champions' does play with a little distortion but I haven't found a 'Greatest Hits' that doesn't.  This is caused when the grooves are pressed closer together so as to fit the track onto the side which can affect the sound.

Cover 

The cover nearly matches the vinyl for quality.  It has retained its glossy black sheen extremely well with no marking.  There is a small crease on the bottom edge and a few very light creases on the spine but the edges and spine itself are in superb condition.  The opening edge has no handling wear suggesting of course that the record has been hardly played.  I haven't seen a cover as good as this in a long time.

Inner

The cardboard inner (with rounded corners as per the first pressings) is in perfect condition with no marks or splits at all.  I have never seen better.
