Please Please Me 1st Pressing PMC 1202 Mono Black and Gold Dick James Credits Label, Laminated 1st Issue with Angus McBean Credit after the S of Songs, Rather special this one as it was sent by George Harrison to Astrid Kirchherr in Hamburg shortly after or on the release date 22/03/63, I recently purchased 6 of her LP`s see picture 11 for With the Beatles a Factory Sample has her photographic stamp to back you can also see Don`t Bother Me is underlined probably by George as he wrote it ,I`ve included the photo just for Information and the text from the catalogue for Provenance, Astrid Kirchherr 20 May 1938-12 May 2020 Hamburg , Saw them first in the Kaiserkeller 1960...... "My whole life changed in a couple of minutesĀ all I wanted was to be with them and to know them" The Beatles played in Hamburg from Aug 1960 to Dec 1962 and Astrid took some of the best photographs ever taken of them with her Rolleicord Camera , Most of the LP`s George sent her are Factory Samples stickered up as such this one carries no sticker but is a very early pressing with Dick James Credits, Matrix Nos are XEX 421-1N XEX 422-1N Mothers are 1T + 1 GR Sides One and Two Respectively, Side Two has MZT Tax Code to centre label, Despite the fact she was a personal friend the LP doesn`t appear to have had a lot of play with a lack of any spindle marks, There`s a couple of light non sounding scratches to side Two and a visible one on Track 6 Ask Me Why Side One which causes a click but overall remarkably clean, The Audio is fantastic on these early thick vinyl first pressings in Mono it sounds as though they are playing next door ! George of all the Beatles had a particularly close relationship with Astrid and was regularly writing to her I dare say this LP arrived in Hamburg with a letter, The real value of this LP lies in it being handled by George Harrison and owned by Astrid Kirchherr herself aside from the fact these Black and Gold Dick James Please Please Me are collectable in their own right, There is only one copy of this first Album owned by Astrid the others being sequential so one chance to own it, I shall keep With The Beatles instead as it was the first Beatles LP I ever listened to , I will provide all the Provenance I can to the winning bidder but you can see some of it in last 2 pictures, Posting immediate, Will post Worldwide by Courier for Safety
