MARTIN DENNY -- Exotica -- hard to find, original 1958 U.S. album, black-and-silver Liberty label. Wicked rare 1st Press in true Stereo of classic Martin Denny LP that helped single-handedly launch the Exotica-Lounge craze in the late 1950's. This was originally released in Mono the year before, then Denny completely re-recorded the album in 1958 for true Stereo with Julius Wechter replacing sideman Arthur Lyman ... although some prefer the mono version, it can't hold a candle to the amazing clarity and separation on the stereo issue. While pressings on the later rainbow Liberty label are still common, 1st pressings on the black-and-silver Liberty label are extremely hard to come by. Cover: VG+, ring wear and wear at corners, old price sticker upper right front. Record: VG+/VG++, several light surface marks, overall very clean, U.S. press.
