An original 1st press of Stand Up on the UK Island Bullseye label. Matrix A/B [absolute 1st press]. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original gimmick cover.
Vinyl (Ex+) Absolutely stunning condition and has seen the lightest of use - shiny like a mirror. Under close inspection there are a couple of very light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT+ level of playback. NEVER have I heard this LP sound this good. Due to a lot of acoustic numbers and the use of percussion this Lp is really difficult to find playing super-clean. This copy is just out-of-this-world for clarity and transparency. The flute is so clear it is scary! The percussion is resolved perfectly. There is absolutely no background interference at all just total silence behind the audio. Intros and inbetweens are perfectly silent. We literally couldn't detect more than one or two crackles [literally] the whole way through. Think about it...what are the chances of finding a copy this well preserved? It is a total corker....and you will never find a better copy no matter how long you look for it.
Cover (Ex) This title is particularly hard to find in top condition. They are often heavily worn, or exhibiting a lot of ageing, or failing that the pop-up in the cover is knackered. NOT HERE! This copy really has been looked after very carefully. That iconic front cover looks great with no creases or ageing. It's nice and flat without marking or curl. The interior is nigh on perfect and the all important pop-up is still in full working order without fault. The rear seems to have avoided the worst of the usual fading. All we are seeing is a couple of light marks in the odd place - nothing overtly obvious at all. Edge wear is light. Most of the text on the spine is intact except for the band name 'JETHRO TULL'. Overall the cover retains perfect rigidity and lies totally flat. A truly superb example and one you'd struggle to better.
