An original pressing from 1972 on the UK Pink Rim Island label [roughly two years after 1st issue]. Matrix A4/B3. Stampers 1-MH/2-MH. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original textured gatefold printed by Robor Ltd. Also included is the original blue Island inner sleeve. So 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex+) In stunning condition and has clearly only seen light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of very light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. And as I keep saying..again and again... with King Crimson it really does need to be well preserved to do it any sort of justice. Thankfully interference is pretty much totally absent. I couldn't detect more than a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments. It literally is a nigh on perfect rendition. Clean as anything ...FINAL UPGRADE.
Cover (Ex+) Wowzers just when you think you've seen the most perfectly preserved cover...along pops up another which is just jaw-dropingly good. Never have I seen an original King Crimson cover looking like this - it literally has the 'straight from the printers' look - immaculate. No surface wear at all. No markings and no creases - that's back and front. There's no edge wear to speak of - the spine is immaculate. The interior is immaculate. Overall the cover retains perfect rigidity and lies totally flat. Unbeatable in every way!!!
