An original 1st press of Zep's debut on the UK Atlantic label. Matrix A1/B1. Please note only the very 1st pressings hold the 'Superhype' publishing credits - like this copy. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original 2nd variant sleeve - orange lettering with grey stripe along the bottom edge. There are earlier sleeves with the blue text, but you might need to mortgage the house for one of those copies!! Also included is the original plastic bag warning inner sleeve date coded to May 1969 [059] - one month after 1st release. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Vg/Vg+) In nice condition despite having seen a moderate level of use. Do expect a number of marks either side with one or two getting feelable. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly VERYGOOD+ level of playback with one deviation.  Intros and inbetweens are reasonably quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. Interference is relatively minor and infrequent. Do expect the odd crackle and pop in places. The only noticeable deviation is in You Shook Me. Toward the end of the track there are a couple of marks which cause about three pops and a small burst of interference. But the record plays through it and it is pretty short lived in reality. Overall a very decent rendition and very addictive. And this is a sensible price to pick it up at - particularly given that it is the genuine 1st press.
Cover (Vg+) In great shape - particularly given it is 50 years old! Lovely shiny front cover with a couple of thumbnail creases over at the opening. The rear is exhibiting a few creases in the corners. Edge wear is relatively light and the text on the spine is still all legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A great specimen.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing and a couple of side splits.
