Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is the eighth studio album by the English rock band the Beatles. Released on 26 May 1967,[nb 1] Sgt. Pepper is regarded by musicologists as an early concept album that advanced the roles of sound composition, extended form, psychedelic imagery, record sleeves, and the producer in popular music. The album had an immediate cross-generational impact and was associated with numerous touchstones of the era's youth culture, such as fashion, drugs, mysticism, and a sense of optimism and empowerment. Critics lauded the album for its innovations in songwriting, production and graphic design, for bridging a cultural divide between popular music and high art, and for reflecting the interests of contemporary youth and the counterculture.
The vinyl is very good / excellent, It has a superior glossy sheen and sits completely flat with no warping. Fresh clean labels with no writing or loss of paper and great spindle holes! MOSTVOF THESE STEREO PRESSES SHOW A DOUBLE LINED EMI BOX - HOWEVER THIS IS VERY RARE WOTH ONLY A SINGULAR LINE SURROUNDING IT!! There are some non feelable surface lines and spindle trails can be seen at an angle.
The green Peter Blake cutouts are excellent/near mint as seem to have been kept safely within the gatefold.
The protective inner is fabulous with no splits or tears.
The outer GATEFOLD cover is brilliant, has retained a great sheen still, only minor discolouration/wear to the corners as to be expected for an item of this age. And of course displays the word 'stereo' to the top right corner. Has no splits or tears and has a great spine!
OVERALL A LOVELY GREAT CONDITION TO ADD TO YOUR MUSICAL HISTORY COLLECTION!!!
