Legendary performer of early recorded country music, Uncle Dave was “The First Star of the Grand Ole Opry” in the late 1920’s, and was also known as “The Dixie Dewdrop”. This record was recorded in 1924, so definitely a pre-war recording on Vocalion brown vinyl. Side A is ‘All I’ve Got’s Gone’ and side B is ‘Hill Billie Blues’. It has some typical smudges, scuffs and light scratches, as one would expect of these old 78 records. But none that should interfere with it’s playing, and there are no chips.  Both are labeled as Comedy songs, sung and played by Uncle Dave, on banjo. Cannot find where another of these has been offered or sold on E-bay.      The second record was recorded in April 1925, so definitely another pre-war recording on Vocalion. Side A is ‘Muskrat Medley’ and side B is ‘Rooster Crow Medley’. Again, it has some typical smudges, scuffs and light scratches but none that should interfere with it’s playing, and there are no chips. Uncle Dave is on both vocals and banjo. Last one offered on E-bay sold for $39.95 plus $6.60 shipping in January so they do not come up for sale often.
