Columbia E-4913
Artist: unidentified zampogna and ciaramella players
Tracks: Polka degli Zampognari / Tarantella degli Zampognari
Another excellent disc recorded in 1919 in New York, featuring a "bagpipe trio" (see my other auction featuring the same group) - actually the Italian zampogna bagpipes, as well as the small double-reed instrument, the ciaramella. Classic regional folk music often played around Christmas in Italy.
Condition: V++ to V+ (numerous marks and scuffs, plus a 3" LAM on the "Polka" side - but does NOT sound on my system, and overall plays to grade if not better)
I will be regularly selling a lot of amazing discs from around the world in the coming months. Please bookmark me and check back in.
