PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Original 1970 first pressing of the 2nd and sadly last Burrito Brothers with GRAM PARSONS while the album doesn't get the attention of their first album, it is quite good containing several highlight tracks, including Gram Parson's stirring version of 'Wild Horses'

'Burrito Deluxe' isn't as immediately attractive as its predecessor, 'Gilded Palace of Sin'. for one thing, it is short on those blood-freezing ballads to which Gram Parsons' beautiful voice, worn by experience, was so well suited. Hoever it does contain the strutting Parson grovves of "Older Guys"  which is highly infectious after a cuople of spins...you DO have to wait for the closing track for an authentically affective Gram Parsons moment, in his gem cover of the Stones' 'Wild Horses', a reworking superficially faithful to the original, but burring with its own maudlin rural feeling. Despite the title, it is more like a slow-motion visit to the knacker's yard. By contrast, 'Lazy Days' rollicks with energy, and is typical of the album as a whole, good-time rock tinged with Nashville stylings. while these songs are thoroughly enjoyable, full of imaginative musical flourishes, and transport you to some lively hoe-down in a mythical barn, they are rarely as memorable as the sardonic lyrics, an exception being the hazy 'Man in the Fog'. The opening track LAZY DAYS proves the Burritos are already attempting a new angle. IMAGE OF ME is like the balladry found on 'Gilded' but it just isn't in the same league as those brilliant compositons. HIGH FASHION QUEEN is an awesome rural rocker. IF YOU GOTTA GO brings out the more rock side of the band; love that guitar! MAN IN THE FOG is filler. FARTHER ALONG has a laid back rural mood. OLDER GUYS, as noted above, one of the albums best; a superb rocker. CODY CODY is a classic. GOD'S OWN SINGER passes the test. DOWN IN THE CHURCHYARD is good. The closing track on this album is a cover of the Rolling Stones classic WILD HORSES as noted above remains one of the finest songs on the album after all these years.

Overall Burrito Deluxe does not recieve the credit it deserves. Sure it's not 'Gilded Palace Of Sin' but it still an awesome west coast rural rock album in it's own right. Besides this was the last Burritos album with Gram Parsons unless you count the handful of compilations made years later. This album deserves a closer look before critics write it off because it is actually quite good. Highly recommended!
