LOUIS SMITH “Here Comes Louis Smith” RVG, P, DG, BLP 1584 Mono Vinyl This is 1958, First Edition, “RVG” stamped, Deep Groove, “P” pressing of LOUIS SMITH’s “Here Comes Louis Smith on the Deep Groove "47 West 63rd” labels of Blue Note BLP 1584. Musicians include Louis Smith – trumpet, Cannonball Adderley (credited as "Buckshot La Funke") - alto saxophone, Tommy Flanagan, Duke Jordan, piano, Doug Watkins – bass, Art Taylor - drums. VINYL plays: Side 1, well, with consistent lower to medium level surface noise, pops and ticks, some repeating. Repeating loud tick last third of track 1, Side 1, into first quarter of track 2, Side 1. Side 2: much quieter than Side 1 with some pops and ticks. But ensemble sections are largely clear, dynamic and strong with full tone. No distortion. Good gloss.  A couple skips. Many hairline marks, a few feelable. (If you can’t feel it, you won’t hear it). The Deep Groove “47 West 63rd” labels show some wear, and spindle marks. See photos. MINT SECOND ISSUE COVER.
