Talented, anarchic and charming: that's Tony Oxley. And this LP recorded 35 years ago in October 1985 at the Philharmonie in Berlin during the Berlin Jazzfest features a stunning line-up under the name of Tony Oxley's Celebration Orchestra. With Larry Stabbins, Gerd Dudek and E-L Petrowsky on saxes, Johannes Bauer on trombone, Ulrich Gumpert on piano, a thrilling four-person string section (including Phil Wachsmann and Alex Kolkowski), the amazing Barry Guy and Ali Haurand on bass ... and then an exceptional five-person drum section (including Oxley himself and the wonderful Nigel Morris) ... with all of them letting rip you would expect some fun, and you would not be disappointed.

The LP is in virtually perfect condition, I think. Apologies for the photo of the cover: it is not discoloured in the corners, and would be classed as either VG+ or near mint - with original shop price sticker. And the vinyl is also in unblemished condition. Specialist record site discogs has sold this LP for 69 Euros in the past, but the only copy for sale on there now (with a creased cover, and surface noise on the vinyl) is priced at 50 US dollars plus postage from Japan. So this copy is a bargain at £36.

Postage within the UK includes special stiffened LP packaging and signed-for delivery ... and I will see if I can make it cheaper, as someone complained!! The mailers cost and so does the sending ..... If you want a price for sending abroad, please contact me before bidding.
