Description
Original UK black Philips label stereo press LP!
The original guitarist with Blue Cheer, after he quit the band in 1968 he started a solo career. Red Weather was recorded in February 1969 in Trident Studios in London and released later in the summer. Later that year he formed a new band Silver Metre, but after one album they split up in 1970 and he released his second solo album 'And A Cast Of Thousands', before forming Pilot in 1971.
This is the original pressing with the black Philips labels, with the 1Y//1 2Y//1 matrices & 1-1-3 1-1-2 stampers of the earliest first presses.
The fully laminated sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some light corner/edge wear and some very light laminate rubbing, but there are some areas of laminate loss that these covers were prone too. The inner sleeve is intact and in EX condition. The spine is intact and fully readable & in EX condition.
The record is in visually EX condition, with only a couple of very faint sleeve removal hairlines and one or two light needle scuffs visible on each side. The labels are in EX+ condition, clean & bright with evidence of one or two faint spindle markings on each side.
The sound reproduction is EX+, still clear & precise throughout with no loud pops, hiss or crackle & definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some very brief background noise during the run in grooves. Overall, a really great, loud & clear listen.
The matrix nos. are; 852138, 1Y//1 stamper 1-1-3, 2Y//1 stamper 1-1-2. This is one of the early copies of the first pressing of the original UK stereo issue of this classic 1969 album.
