THE GOLD COAST / BANANA PUDD'N' ... 7-inch, 45rpm single by NILO TOLEDO. Original US pressing on the HOCTOR label (H - 2920), from circa mid '70s. Cult, dance instruction funk, gleamed from Nilo's Jazz In The Sun Lp. A desirable private pressing featuring the James Brown influenced party rocker, THE GOLD COAST. Infectious Bboy drum skills / latin percussion / clipped wah wah / flanged e-piano / breaks and super-funky groove. Superb playing from an uncredited studio group, especially the funky drummer and obsessive bass player. Great for DJs. Endless funky hip hop loops with a tempo change midway that takes the groove onto another level :) His BANANA PUDD'N' tune is a mid tempo, Caribbean soul jazz number with colourful funky rhythms. This is the 1st press on styrene (a detail that most sellers fail to mention) with loud production sound. Seldom comes up for sale on mainland Europe. Rare 45!!!

Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG 

Styrene record is in VG++ condition overall regardless of some hairlines and mini faint scuffs. Loud production. Plays with background surface noise (to be expected for such a pressing) that are more prominent on the "Pudd'n'" side (as you can hear on our soundclip). Some light dirt marks to label. Item will be housed in a soft card white sleeve with brand new, poly lined paper inner. Rare 45!!
