George Harrison 'All Things Must Pass (The Alternative Working Version)' bootleg CD. A superb detailed CD featuring unreleased songs, acoustic demos, electric guitar demos, studio demos and unreleased takes from George’s spectacular 1970 Apple album ‘All Things Must Pass’. This comprehensive package comes complete with a very interesting selection of inserts.

The CD brings together an extensive collection of 23 tracks recorded for George’s triple album ‘All Things Must Pass’. A large majority of these tracks are from George’s studio demo which he performs alone for Phil Spector showcasing what he has written for the forthcoming album (Spector produced the album). These songs have the HUGE bonus of being studio quality recordings AND free from Phil Spector’s somewhat over the top production.

Almost all these songs were written by George for inclusion on Beatles albums between 1966 and 1969. Lennon and McCartney rejected all these songs in favour of including their own compositions on the albums. John and Paul WERE of course genius writers together but many of these tracks are simply so spectacular it still amazes me they got rejected after all these years of being a huge Beatles fan. The CD also includes a large selection of songs George did not choose to put on the album but recorded in demo format at the time - Dehra Dun, Beautiful Girl, Mother Divine, Going Down To Golders Green, Nowhere To Go, I Don’t Wanna Do It and Window, Window.

In a twist of fate George’s album of ‘Beatles rejects’ is widely regarded as the greatest solo work of any ex-Beatle. I would personally agree with this 100% - yes better than ‘Imagine’ and yes better than ‘Band On The Run’. The acoustic demos are beautiful. 

The package included here is designed to look like an Apple acetate of demo recordings with two alternate prototype covers. Even the inner booklet resembles the colour and layout of the inner sleeves from the original 1970 vinyl box set. Brilliant!
